where to shop and why

this year we spent our holiday money at michael's, hobby lobby and shutterfly.com because i made almost all of our presents by using photos i have taken and inexpensive frames.

some links for deciding where to shop, which has meant we no longer shop at circuit city, waaaah, for instance and now buy gas only from shell of all places:

we have vowed to donate $25/week to a different cause we believe in and so far we have given to these fine places:

organic consumers association
the international rescue committee
amnesty international, usa
defenders of wildlife
the green and libertarian donation fund for the recount

we use charitywatch.org and give.org to figure out who to safely donate to. for some reason my brain forgot to force me to check on organic consumers association and i just wrote to them to find out why they have not signed on with either of these two fine donation filters?

this week i think we mean to give to the comic book legal defense fund - after we hear back from them about their actual financial break-down. as it stands, a minimum of 65% toward actual issues with 35% toward admin and fundraising stands as the division we should look for.
